Thomas R. Whelan

Thomas R. Whelan, Spiritan Missionary, has taught liturgical and sacramental theology for over 30 years in West Africa and Ireland (including at the National Centre for Liturgy), and has guest lectured throughout Europe and in the USA. An Associate Professor of Theology, he has served as NUI Faculty Dean, and later, President at the Milltown Institute. He has published in Irish and overseas journals, most recently in relation to worship in various churches during the pandemic. The opinions expressed here are his own.
