Billy Swan – Violence Against Women

3.50

In August last year, a young Maltese woman named Nicolette
Ghirxi, was murdered by her former Irish boyfriend. In the homily
at her funeral Mass, the celebrant Fr Anton D’Amato said: “We live
in a violent society. We have become so accustomed to violence
that we do not take action and turn a blind eye …We must fight
with action, not lip service … Do not give up, give each other
hope”.1
