Let’s begin with a non-scientific question: Why is there something rather than nothing? It’s a fairly basic question, but some scientific atheists seem to regard it as an idle question on the grounds that it is not a scientific question. I should say immediately that this is not an anti-scientific article – quite the opposite in fact. I believe that science has a great deal to say to the believer, since the scientist, even when an unbeliever, is talking about the world which Christians regard as God’s creation.
