The Church in Latin America has embraced the challenge of
articulating its own recent experience, so as to make an effective
contribution in the forums of today’s society. The COP 16 on
Biodiversity in Cali, Colombia offers us the opportunity to
address, in a manner rooted in the Church’s own experience and
faith identity, the serious situation of the huge loss of biodiversity
and destruction of our ecosystems.
