Saint Paul’s Advice to Spouses thinking about Divorce

Around the year fifty-two, Saint Paul wrote to his Corinthian converts, advising spouses in a marriage between a believer in Christ and a non-believer and thinking about divorce that “God has called us to peace” (1 Cor 7:15). Given the stress, and frequently the anger, associated with increased divorce in the modern world, it is probably still good advice. Peace is an important ategory in the New Testament, mentioned ninety-one times.
